Riggs Spelling Homework--A New Chapter!

Riggs spelling homework is the beginning of a new chapter in first grade and it can seem confusing and difficult at first.  This is why I'm asking you to have patience with all parties involved: your student, yourself, and me.  Your student has to get used to the new routine and doing what's expected, you have to learn how to help your student with what's expected, and I'm doing my best to communicate to you and your student about what is expected and how your student is doing along the way.  Together, we can work out the kinks and become used to the new spelling routine.

Homework Reminder:  All homework each night is listed in your student's planner.  Riggs homework now says, for example, "Riggs H.W. : words 4-8".  Riggs homework for tonight, then, is to practice spelling the words #4-8 from your student’s spelling notebook.  Please follow the specific guidelines as outlined in the bright orange Riggs spelling homework explanation paper sent home.  This document is also permanently available under “Helpful Documents” on the right sidebar of this blog.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions!  If you need further support I am also willing to set up a time where we can go through the Riggs homework procedures in person.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your patience, communication and support,

Mrs. Varis
