THANK YOU!!!
For providing delicious Italian fare for the teacher appreciation lunch. Many thanks from the CHPCS staff!
The Thanksgiving break is upon us! I hope that you enjoy the time away from school and take at least a moment to reflect on everything that you’re thankful for in this life. I am particularly thankful for a wonderful class of first graders and their supportive and loving parents.
Please encourage and help your student to read every night while they are away on break. Depending on your students' needs, it may be a good idea for you to review the phonogram cards and math facts (adding 8 and 9, sums of 10 and 11, etc.). Please also take the time to review the assessment packet that I sent home with your student. Don’t forget to celebrate their successes and support them in any areas that they showed a lack of understanding. Please contact me via email with any pressing questions or concerns.
F.Y.I. in reference to question #6 on the math Written Assessment 7- A “Fact Family” is a set of three numbers that can be used to make four different math facts, two addition and two subtraction. (i.e. 3, 4, and 7 is a fact family because all three numbers can be used to make these four different facts: 3+4=7, 4+3=7, 7-4=3, 7-3=4)
Thanks again and have a great break,
Mrs. Varis
